Therapeutic Recreation Services to host 25th Annual Luncheon in Honor of World Mental Health Day
The Parks and Recreation Department’s Therapeutic Recreation Services (TRS) is proud to present the 25th annual Consumer Luncheon for people living with mental or behavioral health conditions. The free event will be held this Friday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In observance of World Mental Health Day (Oct. 10), the Consumer Luncheon will honor fellow consumers' achievements in their mental health journeys and give participants the opportunity to get resources and information, hear from inspiring guest speakers, participate in fun activities, and of course, enjoy food together.
The luncheon will also celebrate TRS’ Leisure Seekers group, which provides opportunities for independent adults recovering from a mental or behavioral health diagnosis. The group is designed to increase socialization, self-esteem, and leisure skills through recreation opportunities and education.
Leisure Seekers’ Fall activities include a Haunted Happenings Tour, a Bowling League, Social Connection, art classes, and more. Most programs are free or low-cost. For more information, view the Leisure Seeker's Fall 2024 calendar.
All consumers are welcome to the free lunch, but to be guaranteed food, RSVPs are requested by Wednesday, Oct. 9. Register online at SDRecConnect.com and use code 117846 or call 619-236-7753.
The luncheon will be held at the Balboa Park Club, 2150 Pan American Road, in Balboa Park.
