If you’ve just finished filing your latest tax return and are wondering how to safely dispose of old tax files, the City of San Diego’s free Tax Files Recycling event is for you!

Beginning today, April 17, City of San Diego residents can drop off documents in secured bins at the Miramar Recycling Center at 5165 Convoy St. All documents will be securely stored and shredded before being recycled. Hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from April 17 through 23 (closed Sunday). Participants are limited to one banker’s box of files per person or household. A banker’s box is approximately 10 inches high, 15 inches wide and 25 inches deep.

Diverting trash from the landfill supports the City’s Zero Waste Plan and climate action goals. For information about all the City’s recycling programs and services, please visit recyclingworks.com.
