Fentanyl Crackdown Ends in Nearly Two Dozen Arrests
The San Diego Police Department’s Narcotics Unit and the Homeland Security's Abatement and Suppression Team (F.A.S.T.), teamed up in an operation to identify and arrest dealers based in San Diego County.
On March 1, more than 60 officers and investigators were involved in the 10-hour operation. The team’s efforts resulted in more than 70 contacts, 9 felony arrests, 8 misdemeanor arrests/citations, 31 field interviews and 15 fentanyl outreach contacts.
This collaborative operation is part of the ongoing strategic effort by the SDPD and F.A.S.T. to reduce opioid-related abuse, educate our community and reduce opioid-associated crime within the City and County of San Diego.
Anyone with information regarding illegal fentanyl sales is encouraged to call the San Diego Police Department or contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 to remain anonymous.
