Last week, 95 kids and adults attended Trash Truck Storytime hosted by the Environmental Services Department (ESD) at Carmel Mountain Ranch Library. 

During the event, kids read books about the importance of recycling and got the opportunity to check out a trash truck. With the help of Diego, a City Sanitation Driver, kids learned about the inner workings of a trash truck, watched a live demo of a recycling bin pickup and sat in the driver's seat for a photo.

The ESD team was also on hand to answer collection service questions and pass out its Climate Future Activity Book. People interested in future storytime events can visit the San Diego Public Library's program and events calendar.
