Are you prepared? Lessons learned from the 2007 wildfires

Nine years later, images still haunt those who lived through it.

The devastating 2007 wildfires burned more than 197,990 acres within the County and City of San Diego, and impacted thousands of people. More than 365 homes were destroyed. The fast-moving inferno caught residents off guard, forcing them to unexpectedly evacuate their homes and leave behind valuable belongings and precious memories.
