Hundreds of thousands gathered in Balboa Park under the glistening lights to celebrate the magic of the holiday season.
Balboa Park December Nights, voted as the nation’s top five best holiday festivals in the U.S., brought in more than 300,000 people for the two night event on December 4 and 5. Participating Balboa Park museums opened their doors, free of charge, during the event; giving away an estimated $750,000 of admission.
Entertainment for all could be enjoyed throughout the park with musical and dance performances from the San Diego Junior Theatre, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, San Diego Civic Dance Arts, Del Cerro Baptist’s Christmas Story Tree and others. The International Cottages provided flavors and traditional insights from a number of countries around the globe.
December Nights is the largest free community festival in San Diego. The City of San Diego was a proud supporter and co-producer of the event.
